Privacy Policy
Who we are
Overlaps is a time zone planning tool available at overlaps.cc and app.overlaps.cc. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email us at support@overlaps.cc.
What we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address. We use Supabase for authentication; sign-in is passwordless (magic-link email). We store your email alongside a unique account identifier and an authenticated session token.
Billing information
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. After a successful checkout Stripe sends us a customer ID, your subscription status (trialing, active, past_due, or canceled), and the trial end date. That is all we retain.
Saved presets (Pro accounts)
If you save a preset, we store its name and the time-zone configuration you set. No other content is collected.
Email capture (optional)
If you submit your email via the early-access / newsletter banner, we store that address along with which part of the site you submitted it from. This is separate from your account and used only for product updates. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing support@overlaps.cc.
Server logs
Cloudflare, our hosting provider, records standard access log data (IP address, user-agent, timestamp, page requested) for abuse prevention and performance monitoring. We do not enrich or retain these logs ourselves beyond Cloudflare's default retention period.
What we don't collect
We run no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising networks, and no session-recording tools. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Cookies and local storage
We use only essential, first-party storage — no advertising or analytics cookies are set, so no consent banner is shown.
- Authentication session — Supabase sets a cookie and localStorage entry to keep you signed in. Without it sign-in is not possible.

Theme preference — a single localStorage key
(
overlaps-theme) remembers whether you chose light, dark, or system mode. - App state — the web app stores your current zone list and UI preferences in localStorage so they persist across page reloads. No data is sent to our servers from this store unless you explicitly save a preset while signed in.
Sub-processors
We rely on these third parties to operate the service:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and row-level security. Data is stored in the US. Privacy policy.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management. Stripe is a PCI-compliant payment processor. Privacy policy.
- Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, and serverless functions (Workers / Pages). Subject to Cloudflare's standard data-processing terms. Privacy policy.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, or to receive a copy of what we hold, email support@overlaps.cc. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the European Economic Area or UK you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to restrict processing and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. California residents have rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and to opt out of its sale (we do not sell personal information).
Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance reasons (for example Stripe transaction records). Newsletter email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request removal.
International data transfers
Overlaps is operated from the United States. Our sub-processors (Supabase, Stripe, Cloudflare) primarily process data in the US. By using the service you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Children
Overlaps is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes we may also notify account holders by email. Continued use of Overlaps after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
